MTU visit for LCPE

Our 5th year LCPE class had a great day last week in Tralee for the annual MTU LCPE Event.

They enjoyed a range of lectures and workshops from the likes of Joe O’Connor (Limerick Hurling Performance Manager) and Monika Durarska (2020 Olympic rower).

International Soccer-Twice!!!

It is not often we get to write a post like this ! Congratulations to our two students who have been selected for the Irish International Soccer teams!! Robbie Lynch has been selected for the Ireland U18 squad while Katie Lawlee will captain the Ladies U17 squad. The news came as no surprise to us as both students have been wonderful ambassadors for our school for many years now. We wish them every success as they take to the international stage.

Katie’s first game kicks off today against South Korea and is being live steamed on the link below

1st Year Soccer

Our 1st yr boys soccer team with TY helpers who played a tough league game against Mungret CC today in TUS Limerick and who unfortunately came out the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline. A great team effort, well done boys!!

Man of the Match

Well done Robbie and the Munster team. A tough game today vs Connacht in windy conditions finished 0-0 with both teams having some great chances. A 2-0 win over Ulster, 2-2 draw with Leinster and today’s draw with Connacht was enough to see Munster retain their School’s Interpro title from last year. A great performance by team captain Robbie saw him take the player of the match award today.

Interpro Soccer

Best of luck to Robbie Lynch who has been representing Hazelwood College in the FAI Schools Interprovincial Tournament this weekend. Robbie also has had the honour of being selected as captain of the Munster team this year. Today’s final game is against Connacht. Munster go into this game topping the table having drawn 2-2 to Leinster on Friday night and beating Ulster 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

U15 Soccer

Hazelwood College U-15 Soccer team who today progressed to the final of the North Munster League. Despite how sunny the photo looks, tough weather conditions quickly changed the game in Adare, turning it into a battle between a well organised Croom team and the elements. Final score was Hazelwood College 4, Colaiste Chiarain Croom 0.
