Apprentice Chef News

Hazelwood College students Bridget Kiely (left) and Shauna Kiely attend the Regional Apprentice Chef Workshop, which was held at the Institute of Technology Tralee. Hazelwood College Home Economics students travelled to the workshop in order prepare to enter the Regional Apprentice Chef Competition, as well as gaining experience of a professional restaurant kitchen.

International Food Fair

Hazelwood College Leaving Certificate Applied students Conor Begley (left) and Alan Murphy (right) prepare to participate in the International Food Fair, which was held recently as part of their Hotel, Catering and Tourism module. Conor and Alan produced samples of American food as part of their entry in the International Food Fair.

Home Ec Department Open Day

The Home Economics department were very busy on our recent openday. During the day they fed over 260 Primary schools students. A busy day was had by all preparing and cooking buns, cakes, tarts and sausage rolls.
