TY student Kieran represented Limerick in the U16 200m in the All Ireland at the start of September in Carlow SETU track.

He also came first in the county finals in Mungret and qualified to go straight to the All Ireland where he won a silver medal!

Locally, he recently ran in Liscarroll AC Sports and came 1st in the 100m, all while wearing his Hazelwood Vest with pride!

To top it all off, Kieran has been invited by athletics Ireland into the Munster Performance Squad!

Well done, we literally can’t keep up with your achievements!

Congratulations to the 45 Hazelwood students who represented the school at the LCETB Athletics event at Newcastle West track yesterday. A fantastic day out hosted this year by Desmond College and the icing on the cake was bring home the third place shield. England Awaits!

Great news today to learn that Callum and Eimear had such a successful weekend at the Tailteann Games. Callum taking gold in the 5Kg Shot Putt and Eimear taking silver in the 300m hurdles. Both athletes have now qualified to represent their school and their country at the Schools Track & Field International in Derbyshire, England at the end of the month. Congratulations to both athletes, their families and coaches.

Tailteann Games

A big weekend is ahead of two of Hazelwood’s talented athletes who have qualified to represent the school at this years Tailteann Games which takes place in Dublin. It is a great achievement to be able to compete at this prestigious event with a fascinating history. Best of luck to Callum Keating and Eimear Galvin at the games.

Munster Athletics

Well done Megan Lenihan who came home with the Gold in the Junior Girls Discuss at the North Munster Schools Track & Field in Castleisland today .

Congrats to Callum Keating in the North Munster Track & Field event in Castleisland today. He threw 14.61metres in the Junior Boys Shot and now holds the North Munster Schools record!

LCETB Sports

Well done to Hazelwood College who came 4th overall in the annual LCETB Sports Day in UL. 11 schools participated this year and we were 6 points shy of 3rd place. Loads of medals in shot putt and long jump.

All Ireland Athletics

Results from the All Ireland Schools Outdoor Championships in Tullamore, Saturday 2nd June

Well done to Callum Keating who came 1st in the Minor Boys Shot. (Personal Best throw 15.10) Colm Galvin came 6th in the Senior Boys Javelin. Megan Lenihan came 3rd in the Inter Girls Javelin and 5th in the Inter Girls Discuss.

Best of Luck to Callum who will go on now to represent Ireland over the summer.
