Hazelwood started brightly and led 1-2 to no score after 5 minutes. Barry Bresnihan had scored an opportunist goal after good work by John Barrett. Senior Camogie – Double victory for Hazelwood college senior camogie team this week.

Senior Camogie

On Monday we played Rathkeale who challenged us all through the first half of our game. At half time we were in the lead by only one point. We knew we needed the first score to get in top in the second half. This was delivered by Laura Coleman who scored the first goal for Hazelwood. This was followed closely by a cracker of a goal from Mary O’ Gorman and then there was no stopping the rest of the team who together delivered 5 points. Our Goalie saved not only the day but many shots which ended the game at Hazelwood 2:5 to 2 points to Rathkeale.

The defence played exceptionally well in the second half and Croom only managed to score one point. Again excellent saves from Mary Galvin who was well protected by full back Sarah Curtin. Who alongside Niamh O’ Brien and Emma Brown defended well? The remainder of the scores came from Joanne O’ Gorman who also had a great game. Well done to Hazelwood senior camogie team
