Results from the All Ireland Schools Outdoor Championships in Tullamore, Saturday 2nd June

Well done to Callum Keating who came 1st in the Minor Boys Shot. (Personal Best throw 15.10) Colm Galvin came 6th in the Senior Boys Javelin. Megan Lenihan came 3rd in the Inter Girls Javelin and 5th in the Inter Girls Discuss.

Best of Luck to Callum who will go on now to represent Ireland over the summer.

Munster Champion

Huge congratulations to first year Callum Keating on becoming Munster Schools Minor shot put champion recently with a winning throw of 14.96m. We are very proud of you !

Ladies Camogie Blitz

Munster Colleges 1st Year Camogie Blitz played on Wednesday the 9th of May in Mallow GAA.

Hazelwood College beat Hospital, St. Augustine’s and Kinsale on their way to the semi final where they were beaten by a strong Roscrea side. Well done girls

Ladies Football Blitz

Well done to the 1st year girls who travelled to Mallow today for the Munster Post Primary Ladies Football Blitz. The girls overcame Fermoy, Castleisland and Sliabh Luachra to reach the final. The girls finished runners up to Carrigaline in the final. The girls were fantastic throughout all 4 games. Medals will be presented at awards day. Special thanks to TY mentors, Shauna and Sarah.

Munster Senior Shield

Hazelwood’s Senior soccer team who recently played the Final of the Munster Senior Shield. They were unlucky to be beaten by Kilmacthomas with a heartbreaking 88th minute goal. Congratulations to the team and coach Mr Sheahan on the great achievement of making it to the final and representing the school so well.

Basketball Double

They have done the double!!!! Congratulations to our fabulous first and second year girls who have won the Limerick Schools Basketball finals today against Crescent Comp and Laurel Hill. Huge congrats to this hard working group, their teachers and their TY coaches

Visit from the past & future

Its always great to welcome back past pupils but even more exciting when they arrive through the doors with an armful of cups. Thanks to past students Seamus Flanagan and Padraig Ahern who called to the school with the All-Ireland and Munster Cups that they won in 2017 as part of the Limerick U21 Hurling team.

Indoor Athletics

The Hazelwood Indoor Athletics team pictured after they took part in the Nenagh Indoor Championships. Also pictured is first Year student Callum Keating who took silver in the Minor Boys Shot Putt at the Nenagh Indoor Championships. This comes on the back of him setting a new Munster Record Over 15 Meters and taking gold in the Munster U15 Competition. Congrats on such a great achievement Callum.

Basketball News

The first and second year girls Basketball teams taking time out for some fresh air on Ballybunion beach after two hard fought games. They were unlucky on the day but put in two very strong performances.
