It is not often we get to write a post like this ! Congratulations to our two students who have been selected for the Irish International Soccer teams!! Robbie Lynch has been selected for the Ireland U18 squad while Katie Lawlee will captain the Ladies U17 squad. The news came as no surprise to us as both students have been wonderful ambassadors for our school for many years now. We wish them every success as they take to the international stage.
Katieβs first game kicks off today against South Korea and is being live steamed on the link below
Today some second year Home Economics students experienced a culinary delight as their classmate Sophia Chen dazzled us with her skills and technique of making spring rolls. Students are currently learning about different types of pastry and their uses. Sophia informed the class about how to handle and prepare filo pastry, the combinations of fillings used, how to wrap and roll correctly and the importance of cooking till golden brown. For some students it was their first time tasting spring rolls. All students were delighted with the step-by-step rolling instructions demonstrated by Sophia. They are going to attempt to make spring rolls at home in the coming weeks. The flaky, crispy, golden spring rolls were a real crowd pleaser and enjoyed by all. Thank you Sophia!
TY student Ornagh Barrett will be travelling to India with the Hope Foundation in 2024, she was joined by friends to complete a marathon team relay! The students in 2C tutor class decided they would like to make a personal gift for each other this year. So each student got an opportunity to write out some positive adjectives describing each other. A festive bauble keepsake was filled with these positive adjectives for each student. They were delighted with their personal gift along with their hot chocolate drink!
Amazing news!
