Hazelwood College 1-9
Scoil Ruain, Killenaule 1-7

Last week Hazelwood College qualified for the Munster Semi-Final in the first year football by overcoming Killenaule in Rathkeale last Wednesday. Hazelwood started brightly and led 1-2 to no score after 5 minutes. Barry Bresnihan had scored an opportunist goal after good work by John Barrett. Further points by Kevin Noonan and Michael Noonan saw Hazelwood lead by one point at half time. The defence more than played their part in the opening half time with John O’ Gorman an inspiration at half back.

Hazelwood came under pressure for the opening 10 minutes of the second half but goalie Patrick Jewitt and Brian Noonan at full back were heroic in their defence of the goal. Killenaule led by one point with ten minutes of the match remaining but Dromcollogher responded by playing great football and scored a further three points to ease to victory. Barry Bresnihan and Michael Nolan were amongst the scorers.

Turning with the breeze at their backs, the Drom girls took on Doon and had the game turned around fifteen minutes into the half.
