Home Baker of the Year
That’s the way the cookie crumbles!
Recently students from Hazelwood College, Dromcollogher were invited to enter the Listowel Food Fair Home Baker of the Year Competition. Junior cycle students in the Home Economics Department presented three cookies for the judges which had to be cooked and prepared by the students. All of the entries were judged on colour, flavour and texture. The students culinary skills were put to the test and there was no bounds to the talent in the school. There was great excitement when 1st prize in the category was awarded to Emma O’ Connell a first year student in the school. Emma’s buttery chocolate chip cookies could not be resisted and went down a treat with the judges. Congratulations and continued success to Emma from the Home Economics Department on her culinary skills.
