Hazelwood College U14 capped off a superb year in a tough battle with Scoil Íosaef, Kilmallock, in the U14 Limerick Colleges’ Competition. Hazelwood College started well, with a Colm Tynan goal and a Thomas Curran point, which gave Hazelwood a dream start. A Ciarán O’Sullivan streak of four points increased the Hazelwood College cushion, with a further Colm Tynan goal and a Mark Buckley point, which left the score at 2-8 to 0-1 to Hazelwood.
In the second half, the Kilmallock team staged their expected fightback, but a Thomas Curran goal and a point kept Hazelwood ahead. Throughout the last ten minutes, Hazelwood’s defence withstood a constant Kilmallock onslaught, with Iain Kelly and Jack Condon leading the defence.
