Hazelwood talk their way to the top.
Victory was awarded to Hazelwood College, Dromcollogher in the County Limerick Public Speaking Competition organised by Mental Health Ireland. The students, Brídann Cronin, Becky Sheehan, Sarah O’ Flynn and Sarah Sheehy coveted the accolade with their award winning speeches promoting the importance of positive mental health in our society today. The aim of the project is to increase awareness among those suffering from mental health problems. The team fought off stiff competition from Scoil Iosaf Abbeyfeale, Scoil Pól Kilfinnane, Gael Cholaiste Laurel Hill and Presentation College, Sexton Street. Hazelwood College will now proceed to the regional finals where they hope to continue their winning streak. So it’s full steam ahead now as the girls practice under the watchful eye of their English Teacher Geraldine Murphy Reidy.
