Great Success at Young Scientist 2013
Andy Quaid, Paul Power and Jamie Singleton all students attending Hazelwood College, Dromcollogher, managed a remarkable achievement for three first year students to reach the 2013 BT Young Scientist and Technologist Exhibition. Their project was titled “An Exploratory Study into the Attitudes and Perceptions of Primary Students in comparison to Post Primary School Students towards Science in County Limerick”, under the guidance of their science teacher Ms Herbert, was one of 1879 projects which were entered into the competition and one of the 550 projects selected to be exhibited. Such was the level of effort and ability displayed by the trio, that their project was awarded “highly commended” status in ‘Social and Behavioural Category’. This meant that their project was in the top 20% of projects in its category. Throughout the week, the Exhibition judges praised the students on their enthusiasm and the huge work that was evident in the project booklet.
Ms Herbert, Paul Power, Jamie Singleton and Andy Quaid would like to thank all the primary schools and post primary schools who took part in their project.
